
Funding Announcement
On February 12, 2015 the Town of Lunenburg was pleased to announce funding grants from ACOA (Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency) to help with the repurposing of Lunenburg Academy.
Interior renovations include new washrooms and electrical and plumbing upgrades, a wheelchair accessible ramp and conversion of interior spaces into offices to make the heritage building more rental-friendly. Mayor Bailey hopes the timely acquisition of funds will result in the school becoming a “revenue-generating multi-purpose facility.”Gerald Keddy, MP for South Shore-St Margaret’s was on hand to share the good news. The 750,000 total is comprised of 420,000 from ACOA; 180,000 from the Town of Lunenburg; and 150,000 from the Lunenburg Academy Foundation.

The repurposed, iconic Lunenburg Academy, a national historic site and provincial property has undergone extensive renovations and houses a diverse set of tenants.
Visible for miles around, it is an outstanding landmark and focal point for the Town of Lunenburg and the South Shore, encouraging local economic development and tourism.
There is currently one space available on the first floor for lease- Room 101. Rent includes electricity, heat, parking, snow removal, and common area janitorial services.
